Þrumufleygur komst ekki á sama flugið og í Hafnarfirði en fékk 9 fyrir tölt og stóð vel fyrir því og 9 fyrir brokk og hann vakti mikla athygli á yfirlitinu þrátt fyrir að vera ekki í hópi efstu hesta.
Brekkan tók vel við sér þegar hann gekk í sínum stóru og háu skrefum á brokki og tölti eftir brautinni og einhverjir höfðu á orði að þessi hestur hefði alla burði til að fara í 9.5 fyrir tölt og brokk.
Því miður var hann eitthvað með sviðskrekk þegar átti að sýna fimmtu gangtegunina fyrir framan dómarana, en á æfingu daginn fyrir yfirlit sýndi hann okkur góðan og töluvert kraftmikinn sprett. Spurning hvort að það sé kannski bara sviðskrekkur í Jonna þegar hann kemur fram fyrir of mikið af fólki ;) En fótahreyfingarnar eru miklar og kannski ekki óeðlilegt að fótaröðunin ruglist aðeins þarna á milli, sérstaklega þegar völlurinn er svona harður eins og hann var á Melunum og sást kannski best þegar úrslitin í A-flokknum voru á sunnudag þegar ansi margir sprettir fóru í vaskinn.
Landsmót in Skagafjörður 2011
Our stallion Þrumufleygur frá Álfhólum was not in the same zone at Landsmót as he was at Hafnarfjörður but he nevertheless received 9 for tölt and trot. Þrumufleygur attracted much attention at the overview despite not being among the top horses.
The spectators applauded when he showed both Tölt and trot with his big, high leg actions along the track but this horse has really the capability to recive 9.5 for both Tölt and trot later on.
Unfortunately, he seemed to have a little stage fright when he was to show his powerful pace i track infront of the judges. But with his great leg action it is perhaps only natural that he looks a little like he is closer to the Tölt than the pace, especially when the track is so hard as it was at the Landsmót. The hardness of the track was quite obvious in the finals of A-flokkur on Sunday when most of the great horses in the finals had great problem in the pace!
